L3Harris VAMPIRE Counter-Drone Kits Reach US Army Two Months After $106M Order
L3Harris has begun delivering VAMPIRE counter-drone systems to the US Army, with initial units arriving within two months of the service's order worth up to $106 million. The vehicle-agnostic package combines a WESCAM MX-10D targeting sensor, Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System rockets, a proximity fuze and Widow mission-management software for reconnaissance and precision engagements. L3Harris announced the delivery milestone on October 13, 2026, after establishing a dedicated production facility in Huntsville, Alabama, earlier in the year. The company says VAMPIRE has accumulated more than 350,000 operational hours in European combat operations since 2023, providing an existing field-use record for the Army acquisition.
