L3Harris Wins $250M GMLRS Rocket Motor Contract at Record Quantity
Lockheed Martin awarded L3Harris a $250 million follow-on contract for standard-range Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System propulsion units, with the supplier describing the order as its largest GMLRS motor quantity to date. Production will take place at the new 60,000-square-foot Arsenal of Freedom facility in Camden, Arkansas, scheduled to open later in 2026. The plant will centralize manufacturing and introduce additional automation and robotics after L3Harris doubled motor output in recent years. Neither the number of motors nor the delivery schedule was disclosed, and the award covers propulsion units rather than complete rocket rounds.
