Land Forces 2026: NIOA, MBDA sign Deluge production agreement
NIOA and MBDA signed a memorandum of understanding at Land Forces 2026 to explore Australian production of the Deluge one-way attack munition. Deluge is a turbojet-powered expendable strike weapon intended for saturation attacks, with MBDA citing a range of up to 500 km, a maximum speed around Mach 0.4 and a roughly 50 kg payload class. The companies will examine local manufacturing and supply-chain options as MBDA prepares French production from 2027. The agreement is an industrial cooperation framework rather than an Australian Defence Force acquisition, and no Australian order, production quantity or contract value has been announced.
