Land Forces 2026: Rheinmetall advances dual Boxer production

Rheinmetall Defence Australia is simultaneously producing Boxer 8×8 vehicles for Australian and German requirements at its Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Brisbane. Australia’s Land 400 Phase 2 program covers 211 Boxer Combat Reconnaissance Vehicles in six Block II variants, with deliveries continuing as the Army replaces its ASLAV fleet. Five Australian Block II variants have completed development and the final variant is approaching completion, while the 2nd Cavalry Regiment’s transition is expected to continue through 2028. The parallel production effort demonstrates expanded use of the Australian line, but the article does not announce a new Australian Boxer order.
