Hanwha, General Atomics test runway-free drone in South Korea

General Atomics and Hanwha Aerospace demonstrated the Mojave short-takeoff-and-landing drone from a South Korean Army airfield, including a landing on a tank maneuver route and a return flight from Pocheon. Mojave’s 450-horsepower turboprop and high-lift wing are intended to support operations from very short, damaged or improvised surfaces. The partners plan to transition lessons into the production Gray Eagle STOL, with first flight expected in early 2027 and deliveries from 2028, while targeting more than 70 percent Korean-supplied components.
