Latvia Receives First HUNTER Infantry Fighting Vehicle of 84 on Order
Latvia has accepted the first locally assembled ASCOD infantry fighting vehicle, General Dynamics European Land Systems–Santa Bárbara Sistemas announced on October 7. Acceptance took place on September 26 under a programme for eighty-four vehicles to be completed before 2029, with approximately 30% of the work assigned to Latvian industry. Patria Latvia's Valmiera facility participates in the local assembly and support effort, while the HUNTER configuration carries three crew members and six dismounts with a 30 mm turret. The delivery advances domestic participation in the fleet programme; a separately discussed counter-drone concept remains under testing rather than a confirmed fielded feature.
