Leclerc Tank Drone: French Army's Odin Gives Commanders an Aerial View
The French Army's 501st Combat Tank Regiment tested the Odin drone with Leclerc main battle tanks during exercise Saint-Chamond 26 near Reims. Developed in-house with support from an unnamed private company, Odin is autonomously linked to the Leclerc and gives the tank commander an aerial view of the surrounding terrain. The Army has not disclosed the airframe, sensor payload, endurance, datalink, whether the drone is tethered, or whether its imagery is integrated into the Leclerc fire-control system or the SCORPION SICS network. The first field trial was described as conclusive, but no procurement or wider fielding plan has been announced.
