Leonardo DRS completes delivery of INOD Block III thermal sights to Australian Army
Leonardo DRS completed delivery and final training for INOD Block III thermal weapon sights supplied to the Australian Army under LAND 159 Tranche 1. Australian prime contractor NIOA managed local coordination and delivery logistics, while DRS trained personnel in operating and maintaining the equipment. The clip-on sight mounts ahead of an existing day optic without disturbing its zero and supports magnifications from 5× to more than 25×. Its micro-cooled 640-by-480 mid-wave infrared sensor supports sniper target acquisition in darkness and degraded visibility, with hot-swappable lithium batteries or external power sustaining field operation.
