Light Gun spares hit by obsolescence and supply issues

The British Army has acknowledged difficulties obtaining spare parts for its L118 105 mm Light Gun because of obsolete components and wider supply-chain constraints. Defence Minister Luke Pollard told Parliament that the Army is working with industry to revise support arrangements, improve procurement efficiency and address parts that are no longer readily available. The lightweight towed artillery system remains in use with British airborne and commando formations, while additional weapons have been supplied to Ukraine. The ministry provided no figure for affected guns, no measured readiness impact and no completion date for its proposed sustainment improvements.
