Lockheed Martin brings stealth to CCA market with Vectis

Lockheed Martin is funding five Vectis collaborative combat aircraft, including a prototype intended to make its first flight in late 2027. The Skunk Works programme began from a clean-sheet design in March 2025 and was presented publicly at the September Air and Space Forces Association conference. Powered by a Williams FJ44 turbofan, the proposed stealthy aircraft has a company-stated combat radius exceeding 1,100 miles and is intended to operate alongside crewed fighters. Lockheed is positioning Vectis for multiple competitions and discussing it with American and international customers, but has not announced a government production award.
