Lockheed Martin wins $1.32 billion AIR6500 contract to link Australia’s air and missile defenses with allied forces across the Indo-Pacific

Australia awarded Lockheed Martin Australia a six-year, A$1.32 billion contract for the next phase of AIR6500. The company will build the Joint Air Battle Management System that connects Australian sensors, command centers and weapons with allied networks across the Indo-Pacific. Work also covers communications and cyber capabilities needed to share targeting and situational data securely. Lockheed expects its Australian AIR6500 workforce to grow beyond 400 people as the program moves from earlier design activity into delivery through local engineering, software and systems-integration teams inside Australia.
