MSPO 2026: Kongsberg selects Echodyne radar for Protector C-UAV weapon stations

Kongsberg selected Echodyne's MESA electronically scanned-array radar technology for integration with PROTECTOR RS4 and RS6 remote weapon stations in counter-UAS configurations. The radar supplies range, range-rate, bearing and kinematic data to cue fire-control functions and refine tracks from other sensors, while networked PROTECTOR systems can share an air picture across static, crewed and uncrewed platforms. RS4 supports small- and medium-calibre weapons, whereas RS6 can combine an XM914 30 mm cannon, programmable airburst ammunition and missiles such as Stinger. The companies disclosed no customer, contract value, test location or exact MESA radar model after several years of integration and demonstrations.
