MSPO 2026: PGZ unveils heavy IFV

Poland's PGZ unveiled a heavy infantry fighting vehicle concept at MSPO 2026, addressing an army requirement for greater protection and firepower alongside modern main battle tanks. A heavier platform can carry thicker armor, larger sensors and a more capable weapon station than lighter amphibious vehicles, but the added mass creates tradeoffs in mobility, transport, bridging and sustainment. The exhibition vehicle represents an industrial proposal rather than a production award, and final configuration, powertrain, active protection, troop capacity, schedule and unit cost remain open; prototype trials will be necessary before Poland can choose a fieldable design.
