NATO has approved a $40 billion counter-drone initiative to defeat low-cost UAV threats across the Alliance. The programme funds directed-energy, kinetic, and electronic warfare solutions to layer defenses against Shahed-class and FPV drones. The initiative addresses lessons from Ukraine and the Middle East. Contract awards will follow through NATO's Support and Procurement Agency.
