NATO declares MMU fully operational

NATO has declared its Multinational Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MMU) fleet fully operational, providing the alliance with an organic air-to-air refueling and strategic airlift capability independent of U.S. assets. The MMU program, managed through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency, operates Airbus A330 MRTT aircraft from Eindhoven Air Base in the Netherlands. Full operational capability enables NATO to sustain longer-range air operations across the European theater.
