NATO's Rutte says allies to buy up to five Triton surveillance drones

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that four Allies will jointly procure up to five Northrop Grumman MQ-4C Triton HALE UAVs. The high-altitude long-endurance systems will provide persistent ISR coverage over the Atlantic, Baltic and Arctic regions. The acquisition marks NATO's first collective ownership of the Triton platform. Operational integration will complement existing E-7 and P-8 assets.
