Navy Previews MUSV Phase II Project

The U.S. Navy is preparing a competitive Phase II effort to integrate and test Medium Unmanned Surface Vessel technologies through an online defence-acquisition marketplace. The planned project seeks a vessel able to operate without crew for more than ten days, carry at least two standard 20-foot payload containers and remain no longer than 90 metres. Desired participants include companies with vessel construction, autonomy, perception, maritime integration and testing expertise. The notice previews requirements and a selection process rather than announcing a production contract, and it leaves final quantities, awards and operational fielding decisions for later stages.
