Navy Set To Issue SIOP Dry Dock Awards This Month

The US Navy planned to issue a September 2026 solicitation for a Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program contracting vehicle supporting a new multi-mission dry dock at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. The competition is expected to produce approximately five indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts, with proposals due in December and awards targeted for June 2027. The vehicle will support construction of a major dry-dock capability intended to accommodate multiple classes of nuclear-powered vessels. The project is central to modernizing an aging public shipyard and improving the Navy’s long-term capacity to maintain submarines and aircraft carriers.
