Netherlands Signs LOI on 100 kW Apollo Laser Weapon, Eyes Dutch Production

The Netherlands signed a letter of intent with Electro Optic Systems concerning the 100-kilowatt Apollo high-energy laser and possible Dutch industrial participation. The parties plan further development work and will explore a domestic supply chain for a directed-energy system intended primarily to defeat drones at low cost per engagement. Because the document is an expression of intent, it should not be read as a completed procurement contract, and final quantities, funding, production locations, and fielding dates remain unsettled. Further negotiation and testing will determine whether Apollo progresses from cooperative development into an operational Dutch weapons program.
