New Thai frigate programme points to land-attack-capable combatant

The Royal Thai Navy's future frigate will combine conventional naval warfare roles with land-attack and counter-UAS capabilities. The service selected Hanwha Ocean as the program's main contractor on September 18. The proposed design includes a forward gun, vertical-launch cells, anti-ship missile launchers, a CIWS position and a flight deck with hangar space for two medium helicopters. The exact missile types have not yet been disclosed.
