Northrop gets $124 million for delayed F-35 radar parts

The U.S. Navy awarded Northrop Grumman up to $123.8 million for long-lead parts supporting 67 AN/APG-85 radars for Air Force, Marine Corps, and Navy F-35s. Air Force procurement funds provide $66.5 million and Navy funds $57.3 million, with work in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, expected to finish in February 2031. The order is intended to protect the Lot 7 production schedule for the delayed Block 4 sensor, after new aircraft reportedly reached operational units with ballast installed in their noses because completed radars were temporarily unavailable.
