Northrop Grumman says its PGK E5 adds anti-jam precision guidance to existing 155 mm artillery ammunition for GPS-contested operations

Northrop Grumman has introduced the PGK E5, an enhanced precision guidance kit for existing 155 mm artillery ammunition, but has not said that the variant is already in production. The screw-in fuze adds anti-jam features for GPS-contested operations while retaining the current kit's form, mass, compatibility, self-powered design, and 20-year shelf life. The company cites a 50-meter threshold and under-30-meter objective for circular error probable, plus a 98 percent reliability objective, positioning E5 as an upgrade that could use the established PGK manufacturing line.
