Norway awards ship maintenance contracts worth up to $101.7m

Norwegian Defence Materiel awarded parallel maritime maintenance frameworks to CCB, Westcon Yards and Moreld Apply, with an estimated combined value of up to NOK970 million excluding VAT. The agreements cover repair, maintenance and modification of surface vessels, submarines and other maritime equipment over four years, with options extending them by up to three years. Their primary purpose is to supplement the Navy's Haakonsvern workshop when internal capacity and existing arrangements cannot meet requirements, with possible use for allied forces in Norway. Announced on October 14, the frameworks provide additional industrial capacity but do not represent an immediately guaranteed expenditure of the full estimated value.
