Official: Russia's satellite constellation nears 400 spacecraft

Roscosmos chief Dmitry Bakanov told Russia's prime minister that the national orbital constellation is approaching 400 spacecraft, including nearly 60 launched during 2026. He linked near-term expansion to new Soyuz-5 launches, hydrometeorological satellites and additional GLONASS spacecraft intended to improve positioning accuracy to about 2.8 meters by 2027. Russia also plans 32 serial Rassvet satellites by the end of September as an early step toward a much larger 2035 communications constellation, although these figures are official program claims rather than an independent external inventory assessment.
