Pentagon creates permanent team to hunt down waste

The U.S. Department of War has established the permanent Force Agility and Streamlining Team (FAST) inside the Pentagon comptroller's office to identify wasteful, inefficient or duplicative programs and processes. FAST will recommend eliminating, consolidating, realigning or modifying programs and administrative processes, with final decisions remaining with department leadership. The team will report to the department's comptroller, while its director, staffing level, savings target and schedule for initial recommendations have not been publicly disclosed.
