Pratt & Whitney authorizes Hermeus to produce F100 fighter engines, expanding U.S. manufacturing for F-15, F-16 and Quarterhorse

Pratt & Whitney licensed Hermeus to manufacture the F100-PW-229 turbofan in the United States, adding a second production source for an engine used by F-15 and F-16 fighters. The arrangement also supports Hermeus's Quarterhorse high-speed demonstrator work, which uses F100-family propulsion during parts of its development programme. The agreement expands industrial capacity and gives Hermeus manufacturing authority, but it is not itself a government engine order or a commitment to a specific production quantity. Pratt & Whitney retains responsibility for the established F100 product line and customer support.
