QinetiQ to build digital twin of UK vehicle test range

QinetiQ and AVL agreed to create a digital twin of the Hurn Proving Ground in Hampshire for defense and commercial vehicle development. The virtual model will let engineers simulate routes, loads and operating conditions before physical trials, helping identify design issues and plan test programs more efficiently. Linking simulated and real-world results can reduce cost, vehicle wear and range time while improving repeatability, though the twin alone will complement rather than eliminate live testing needed to validate safety, durability and performance in complex terrain.
