Rheinmetall opens new defence facility in Norway to expand production, systems integration and long-term military customer support

Rheinmetall Nordic opened a 4,579-square-metre facility in Skoppum, Norway, to expand production, systems integration, and long-term customer support. The site initially accommodates about 100 employees and has capacity for 127, with an option to add roughly 5,000 square metres under the company’s 15-year lease. Work will cover electro-optics, fire-control equipment, situational-awareness systems, weapon accessories, integration, and maintenance. The investment increases Rheinmetall’s Norwegian industrial footprint and support proximity, but no separate procurement contract or guaranteed production volume for new customer orders was announced with the opening.
