Rolls-Royce to invest $398 million in UK manufacturing

Rolls-Royce will invest £300 million ($397.9 million) to expand and upgrade UK manufacturing and engineering facilities supporting its civil aerospace and defence businesses. More than £140 million will fund new facilities and aftermarket capacity in Derby, with completion planned for 2028, while over £90 million will modernise Bristol’s defence-propulsion site and expand maintenance, repair and overhaul capability by 2031. Further spending includes £43 million at Inchinnan for engine-component machinery, £19 million at Rotherham’s blade-casting facility and £5 million at Ansty. The Rotherham work, supported by an additional £2 million from the regional authority, is intended to double advanced turbine-blade output by 2030.
