Russian military helicopter entered Polish airspace briefly, Polish army says

A Russian Mi-8 military helicopter flying from the Kaliningrad region entered Polish airspace for approximately 42 seconds on September 23, according to Poland's Operational Command. Polish tracking indicated a maximum penetration of roughly 300 meters, prompting fighter aircraft to be scrambled and ground-based air-defense assets to be placed on standby. The Polish command said the nature of the incident suggested that Russia was testing the readiness of Poland's air-defense system.
