Second phase of RAF air command system cancelled

The United Kingdom Ministry of Defence cancelled the second phase of Project Guardian, known as UKV2, and recorded a £9.476 million constructive loss. Guardian is an advanced Royal Air Force command-and-control system intended to help protect British and NATO airspace. Ministers attributed the decision to changing capability requirements, greater technical complexity in delivering a compliant solution and wider portfolio reprioritization. The write-off reflects historical demonstration and manufacturing costs already incurred, rather than a new expenditure, and the decision applies to the second phase rather than necessarily ending every Guardian-related capability.
