Second Tranche 1 Data Layer Satellite Launch Weeks Away; Full Tranche 1 Constellation Up In 2027

The Space Development Agency expects the second launch of Tranche 1 Data Layer satellites within weeks and plans to place the complete Tranche 1 constellation in orbit during 2027. These spacecraft form part of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture's low-Earth-orbit transport network, providing resilient, low-latency data connectivity for joint users and links to missile-warning and targeting systems. The upcoming mission is another deployment increment rather than completion of the architecture. Full operational utility will depend on subsequent launches, on-orbit checkout, ground integration and user-terminal availability.
