Shield AI targets European markets with X-BAT uncrewed strike fighter, seeking Polish production partnership with PGZ Group

Shield AI signed a five-year letter of intent with Poland’s PGZ and WZL-2 to explore domestic design, production, delivery and sustainment of the X-BAT uncrewed combat aircraft for Polish and export customers. The arrangement is an industrial framework rather than a firm aircraft order; definitive agreements must still assign sites, responsibilities and technology-transfer terms. Shield AI describes X-BAT as a low-observable, AI-piloted vertical-takeoff aircraft powered by an F110 engine, with internal weapon bays and no runway requirement. Flight testing is planned for 2026, while training, maintenance and supply-chain cooperation would accompany any production program.
