South Korea inducts first production KF-21 fighter

Korea Aerospace Industries delivered the first production KF-21 Boramae from its Sacheon plant to the Republic of Korea Air Force, beginning operational introduction of the indigenous fighter. The aircraft is assigned to the 156th Fighter Squadron at Yecheon, where crews will build readiness as production-standard jets replace the test fleet used during development. South Korea has contracted an initial 20 Block I aircraft and plans to field 40 air-to-air-focused fighters by 2028, followed by another 80 Block II multirole aircraft for its national combat force by 2032.
