South Korea's K9 Wins First US Army Howitzer Deal Over Western Primes

Hanwha Aerospace has secured a U.S. Army prototype contract for the Mobile Tactical Cannon program, marking an important entry into the American artillery market. The agreement provides for the accelerated delivery of six K9MH prototype systems, with an option for 12 additional systems. The Army is assessing mobile, protected 155 mm artillery solutions, but the award is a prototyping step and does not constitute a full-rate production selection.
