Leonardo DRS to power South Korea's newest destroyer

Leonardo DRS will provide the full electric propulsion system for South Korea's KDDX next-generation destroyer under an agreement with Doosan Enerbility. The integrated system will generate and distribute power for propulsion and shipboard loads, supporting quieter operation, efficiency, and future high-demand sensors or weapons. KDDX is planned as a roughly 6,000-ton class of at least six domestically designed destroyers for the Republic of Korea Navy. The selection gives Leonardo DRS a role in the program's machinery architecture, but the companies did not disclose the contract value, equipment quantities, delivery milestones, or the destroyer's final construction schedule.
