Space Force Wraps Decades-Long GPS Upgrade

U.S. Space Force has completed a decades-long GPS modernization program, finalizing the transition to a fully upgraded GPS constellation with enhanced accuracy, jamming resistance, and new civil signals. The completed upgrade provides military users with M-code signals across the full constellation, significantly improving anti-jamming performance in contested electromagnetic environments. The milestone closes out a program that spanned multiple satellite generations and acquisition challenges. Allied and commercial users will also benefit from improved L1C and L2C civil signal quality.
