Supacat reaches trials in Land Rover replacement race
Supacat has reached the trials stage of the British Army's Light Mobility Vehicle competition while supporting Babcock's General Logistics Vehicle bid. The proposed family uses the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series platform and offers medium-wheelbase, long-wheelbase and utility versions to replace Land Rovers serving since the 1990s. Supacat estimates the competition could cover more than 9,500 vehicles and roughly £2 billion before tax, figures that describe potential programme scope rather than an awarded order. The partners' earlier memorandum commits them to a British supply chain, with trials now providing the next assessment of their proposed vehicle offering.
