Sweden to deploy Patriot missiles to NATO hub in Poland
Sweden will deploy Patriot air-defense systems and approximately 100 personnel to eastern Poland from December to protect NATO's airport logistics hub supplying Ukraine. The contingent will come from the Halmstad air-defense unit and replace Dutch Patriot support at the site. The deployment accompanies Sweden's recently announced Gripen fighter contribution to NATO airspace surveillance in Poland, combining ground-based air defense with an aviation mission protecting the same logistics infrastructure. The government has not disclosed how many Patriot units will be sent, so the announcement defines the personnel commitment and start date without specifying the battery configuration.
