Türkiye's first Typhoon pilots begin RAF training under deal worth over £8 billion for 20 fighters, with BAE Systems deliveries due from 2030

Türkiye’s first two Eurofighter Typhoon pilots have begun training with the Royal Air Force’s 29 Squadron at RAF Coningsby and are expected to remain as instructors until Turkish deliveries begin in 2030. The wider agreement, valued at more than £8 billion, covers 20 aircraft together with weapons, training and long-term support, while the RAF plans to prepare additional Turkish instructor pilots and maintenance trainers. BAE Systems has started production work, making the training pipeline an early step toward Türkiye’s eventual operational conversion to the Typhoon.
