Türkiye's premier aviation, tech festival Teknofest kicks off

Teknofest Southeast opened at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport for five days of air shows, exhibitions, workshops, and technology competitions across a 191,000-square-meter site. Organizers received applications from more than 1.6 million contestants in 99 countries, with 2,000 of over 730,000 teams advancing to finals and more than TL 100 million in support available. Displays include Turkish Stars, Solotürk, Atak, Hürkuş, Anka, Bayraktar aircraft, and defense vehicles, but the opening report does not announce a specific procurement contract. The event's competition model is intended to connect education, research, industry, and young teams across civilian and defense technologies.
