Taiwan's 105mm Wheeled Armored Vehicle Signals a New Era in Indigenous Armored Warfare

Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense publicly demonstrated the mass-production configuration of its indigenous 105 mm wheeled armored vehicle at an Army training area in Tainan on September 23. The event showed a program moving beyond prototypes and operational evaluation toward series production planned for 2027. Designed as a mobile direct-fire platform, the vehicle combines a large-caliber gun with a wheeled chassis for rapid road movement and dispersed operations, supporting Taiwan's effort to build and sustain greater sovereign armored combat capability through its domestic industrial base.
