Thailand plans third batch of Chaiseri amphibious vehicles
Thailand plans to order a third batch of seven Chaiseri 8x8 Amphibious Armored Vehicles for about THB 504 million, bringing the Royal Thai Navy and Marine Corps total to 21 against a stated requirement for 36. The 25.7-ton vehicle carries a crew of three and up to 11 troops, with a 711-horsepower engine, amphibious propulsion and NATO-standard protection. The procurement continues gradual fleet expansion while sustaining a domestic armored-vehicle producer and improving marine mobility across coastal, riverine and land operations. Follow-on batches remain necessary to meet the full requirement.
