Thales Belgium and KSSL partner to manufacture 70 mm laser-guided rockets in India by 2027

Thales Belgium and Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited signed a strategic alliance on September 3, 2026, to manufacture the FZ 70 mm rocket family in India. KSSL will provide production, integration and testing capacity, including a planned energetics facility in Andhra Pradesh, while Thales transfers know-how and links the operation to its qualified supply chain. The scope covers FZ90 unguided rockets and FZ275 semi-active laser-guided rockets, with the first fully assembled Indian unit targeted for early 2027. Production is intended to serve Indian platforms including HAL Rudra and Prachand helicopters as well as export demand.
