Thales Enables Potential Indian Production Of 70mm Rockets

Thales and Kalyani Strategic Systems, part of Bharat Forge, have signed a strategic alliance covering potential Indian production of Belgian-developed 70 mm guided and unguided rockets. The partnership could localize manufacture, strengthen supply resilience and support Indian customers with a broader family of air- and ground-launched precision and area-effect munitions. It also combines Thales's rocket technology with Kalyani's domestic industrial base and manufacturing capacity. The agreement establishes a cooperation framework rather than a production award, and the parties did not disclose investment, quantities, customer commitments, localization milestones or a start date.
