This Is Poland’s New Heavy Infantry Fighting Vehicle

Poland displayed a full-scale demonstrator of its new heavy infantry fighting vehicle, known as CBWP or Ratel. The roughly 40-ton design is planned for a crew of three and eight infantry, with the ZSSW-30 turret carrying a 30-millimeter cannon and Spike antitank missiles. Protection features under consideration include modular armor, mine resistance, laser warning and an optional active-protection system. The roadmap calls for two prototypes in 2027 and possible production readiness around 2029, while an eventual requirement of up to 700 vehicles remains prospective only.
