TKMS says its UK unit wins contract to develop next-generation torpedo defence system for current and future Royal Navy submarines

The UK Ministry of Defence selected TKMS ATLAS UK to develop and supply a next-generation torpedo countermeasure system for current and future Royal Navy submarines. The program is intended to improve detection, classification and defeat of advanced incoming torpedoes through a modern, adaptable defensive suite. Applying a common approach across today’s boats and planned classes should simplify support while protecting submarine freedom of action in increasingly contested waters, where sophisticated sensors and weapons make early warning, rapid decision-making and credible decoys central to survivability.
