Turkish MKE's 20 kW TOLGA Laser Weapon Destroys Drone at 760 Meters in Live-Fire Test

Türkiye's MKE destroyed a drone target at 760 metres using its new 20 kW TOLGA fibre-laser weapon during the Ateş Serbest-2026 live-fire activity at Polatlı. The laser forms part of the TOLGA close-range air-defence architecture and combines four 5 kW fibre-laser sources to deliver its stated power. The Ministry of National Defence exercise also included firing by TOLGA's 12.7 mm and 20 mm fixed and vehicle-mounted weapon stations, including a twin-barrel revolver system. The engagement demonstrates the laser's performance against the particular test target, while the wider TOLGA architecture integrates directed-energy and gun-based effectors for short-range defence.
