Turkmenistan Air Defense Adds FK-2000, Its Fourth Chinese SAM System

Turkmenistan introduced the Chinese FK-2000 short-range gun-missile air-defense system, displaying at least eight vehicles at its September 27 independence parade in Ashgabat. Official state coverage described the equipment as newly in service, adding a fourth Chinese-origin surface-to-air system alongside the FM-90, KS-1A and FD-2000. The self-contained 8×8 platform combines missiles and guns, providing an additional engagement layer against drones and precision-guided threats. The parade establishes the presence of at least eight vehicles but does not disclose the complete fleet, procurement value, delivery sequence or organization of the new units.
