U.S. Air Force signs $149M deal to keep its bunker busters in production

The US Air Force awarded contracts with a combined ceiling of $149 million to Superior Forge and Steel, Ellwood National Forge, Faxon Machining and Grand Valley Manufacturing. The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity awards cover full-scale and subscale large penetrator warhead cases, preserving the specialized forging and machining base used for bunker-defeat weapons. Work can continue through September 7, 2033 if the option is exercised; only $10,000 was obligated to each contractor at award, with quantities and funding to be set through later orders.
